Using nitrogen gas in its gasesous form, it will replace the air and decreases the oxygen concentration, avoiding explosion risks or humidity take up.
Safety
When you store flammable products, explosion can occur when the following three elements take place together:
- Presence of flammable steams or dusts (fuels)
- Presence of oxygen from the air (comburant)
- Source of ignition (generally, static electricity, hardly controllable)
Nitrogen gas is then used in its gaseous form to replace the air and decreases the oxygen concentration, avoiding explosion risks or humidity take up. Pure, clean, perfectly dry and inert, nitrogen also protects your products in the following ways:
- As oxygen concentration is removed, your product does not oxidize.
- With no humidity, your powders do not agglomerate and your product does not chemically degrade during storage or further processing.
- With the absence of oil traces, there is no risk of backflow pollution.
However, nitrogen must be used with care. Therefore our experts can offer gas safety training to your teams.
