Supporting A Mileston Project: REC  [ Return towards  SOXAL News  ]

Mirroring Singapore’s visionary drive towards energy efficiency, REC’s arrival in Singapore marks the beginning of a new wave of technological capabilities to power the nation’s ambitions to become a clean energy hub. On completion, REC will emerge as the world’s largest integrated solar manufacturing complex.  

As one of the largest investments ever made in Singapore, the successful and timely commencement of operations is critical to not just REC but to Singapore who has strongly supported this project every step of the way. It is with this mindset that SOXAL, as a key supplier supporting the gas requirements of REC, successfully installed the infrastructure and commenced supply of Nitrogen gas to the Cell plant (solar cells manufacturing) of REC Singapore on 26 May 09, ahead of the targeted supply date of 1 June 09. Concurrently, SOXAL is also ready to supply Nitrogen gas to the Wafer and Slurry facilities, well ahead of the contractual supply date of 15 August 09.  

Installation works are currently in progress and on schedule for the remaining Ammonia, Silane, Nitrous Oxide, Argon and Helium Gas supply systems. 

The focus and emphasis that SOXAL has placed on the success of this project is exemplified by the effective project management, team work and close coordination within SOXAL and with REC, highlighting our commitment to the success of REC in this exciting but challenging environment.
