SOXAL Wins Contract to Supply to Soitec’s Fab 3  [ Return towards  SOXAL News  ]

France-based silicon-on-insulator (SOI) wafer manufacturer Soitec has set up a 300mm wafer fab in Pasir Ris Wafer Fab Park and will invest 350 million Euros to build and equip a 4,000 square foot cleanroom facility. This newest production facility is designated as Fab 3, and is Soitec’s first fab in Asia. This facility is expected to start supplying SOI wafers in mid-2008. Once fully ramped up, it is expected to have the capacity to produce one million wafers per year and is further expected to employ about 500 people.

SOXAL has been awarded the contract to provide a Total Gas and Chemical Management system to this plant to manage the supply and distribution of bulk gases, specialty gases, and chemicals, from the source - to the point of use, for their hi-tech applications. Along with this latest success, SOXAL currently supports 17 of the 18 wafer fabs in Singapore, underlining its extensive experience and technical reliability.
