Doing Our Bit as a Corporate Citizen

At SOXAL, we believe in giving back to the society that has enabled us to be successful. As part of our efforts as a socially responsible corporate citizen, we provide generous support to our adopted charity, Make-A-Wish^® Foundation Singapore in their various programs and also participated in the nation’s birthday celebration through our contribution of helium gas for their balloons that were used in the celebration.  

NDP @ Marina Bay 2007

Our nation celebrated her 42^nd birthday on the first ever floating platform at Marina Bay, which can contain to a maximum capacity of 175,000 Singaporeans. SOXAL participated in this celebration through our sponsorship of the helium gas that was used in the balloons at the parade. In return, our efforts were recognized through the various publicity materials that the NDP 2007 committee distributed and some of our SOXAL staff even got the opportunity to celebrate the nation’s birthday at Marina Bay.  

Project Lighthouse 2007, “Making Waves, Giving Hope”

Project Lighthouse 2007 was organized by the SAF Yacht Club, established in 1967, to facilitate the interests of sailing enthusiasts in Singapore together. Besides gathering the like-minded people together, SAF Yacht Club firmly believes in helping the less fortunate in our society. Under Project Lighthouse, SAF Yacht Club aims to help charities to raise funds and awareness of their respective missions and for the year 2007, they have adopted Club Rainbow (Singapore) – a charity dedicated to helping chronically ill children. To facilitate this two-day event which was held on 4^th and 10^th November 2007, SOXAL generously supported the event with balloons and helium gas that were used as decorations and given to the children at the event.  

Make-A-Wish^® Foundation Singapore

Make-A-Wish Foundation^® Singapore was established in 2002 and is dedicated to grating the heartfelt wishes of children in Singapore, between the ages of 3-18, that are challenged with a life-threatening illness. To fulfill the wishes of these children, SOXAL has adopted the Foundation as one of our charities. As part of our support, we sponsored the various programs that the Foundation has organized and also fulfilled their helium requirements for parties and events. It is a joy to see the kids playing with the balloons at these parties and appreciating the various gifts that they have received through our kind contribution.  

As quoted by Ms Debra Devied, Director of Development, “SOXAL has been a generous supporter of cheer & magic by providing the much needed & precious helium to liven up our Wish Children’s parties and Wish Events. The helium filled balloons bring much delight & joy to children & adults of all ages. In addition to the continued support of helium, SOXAL in 2006 was the main sponsor for our Stories of Light Fundraising & awareness campaign. This was an island wide campaign which kicked off at Nokia Starlight Cinema & concluded with a pyjama party at Courts Megastore, Tampines.”

Corporate Environmental Outreach Run

Organized by the National Environmental Agency (NEA), this inaugural CEO Run, held on 17^th November 2007, is part of the Clean and Green Singapore (CGS) programme which aims to enhance the People, Public and Private sectors’ involvement in environmental ownership and adoption of environmentally friendly practices. SOXAL did its bit for the environment by donating for this event. The funds that were raised for this Run will be used to develop, improve and sustain community outreach and education efforts to encourage the public to embrace environmental responsibility. Our efforts were recognized by the NEA through the presentation of a plaque and acknowledgement on their CEO Run website.
