Aviation

Already the region’s aviation hub, Singapore’s new vision is to be a global aviation hub. As such, Singapore would serve not only as the ideal centre for aviation activities and enthusiasts, but also a focal point where industry players can come together to collaborate, create, and supply innovative products and services to both regional and global markets.

In reaching towards this global vision, Singapore has strongly invested in developing and ensuring her capabilities as a true "one-stop shop" for aerospace maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) activities are second to none. A standing testament to Singapore’s growing reputation in avionics is the exponentially growing number of airlines and aircraft that that call Singapore home. Singapore also has extensive state-of-the-art capabilities to repair airframes, engines, avionics, and aviation components. Her aerospace MRO industry constitutes some 20 per cent of Asia's MRO market.

Singapore is also home to several world-class aviation design and manufacturing operations, covering such areas as avionics, engine controls, landing gear, and flight control actuators. In the interests of maintaining her lead position in the region’s aviation industry, Singapore will undoubtedly continue to place top priority on investing in her aviation strengths while we at SOXAL continue to keep pace with Singapore’s aviation industry growth through our product and service and support offerings.

SOXAL’s mission in supporting Singapore’s aviation industry is to supply and service bulk and cylinder gases for the various metallurgical treatments required in aircraft engine repair. These treatments include:

  • Plasma coating processes
  • High-velocity oxyfuel coaters
  • High-impact gun firing coaters
  • Vacuum heat treatment furnaces
  • HF cleaning furnaces
  • Large autoclaves
  • Hydrogen
  • Hydrogen furnaces

Argon, oxygen, nitrogen and hydrogen are principally used in these processes. Furthermore, liquid nitrogen is supplied for shrink fitting applications, and SOXAL supplies the dry ice used by airline kitchens to keep the prepared meals chilled in their trolleys whilst in transit.

Analytical Service and Support

If required, SOXAL also provides analytical services to help validate processes, which take the form of online continuous monitoring devices or grab sample analysis. Regular leak testing of pipeline systems and calibration gases for analytical instruments are also available.
